Play horseshoe, volleyball,or frisbee in the sports zone. Take the kids to the expansive playground with climbing structures, slides, and swings. The park is equipped with three picnic areas near the most gorgeous sights in the park. Two pavilions are available for rent with a 225 person capacity each. Also connected to the park is a mini golf course, a skate park, and a fascinating historical landmark. While at the park, be sure to visit the oldest building in Gaithersburg: the Summit Hall Smokehouse. Built in the dawn of the 1800’s, buildings like this smokehouse were essential to survival through the winter. Meat would be packed in barrels filled with salt and kept tightly sealed inside these buildings.
